Tattershall Rally 2022

Our weekend away with the MCC at Tattershall

Being relative newbies to the Motor Caravaners Club and attending our first meetup at Spalding, I volunteered both myself and Kev to be stewards at the Tattershall meetup. After volunteering we was a little apprehensive, having never done anything like this before, but after speaking to Peter and Debbie (the other couple who had volunteered to be stewards) we were soon put at ease. I was asked to contact a lady called Holly to arrange a time to collect the keys to the Village Hall only to be told that the Hall had been double booked. After a few phone calls the matter was resolved.

Peter and Debbie are a lovely couple, they made Kev and myself feel at ease, giving us lots of help and making us feel part of the MCC family.

After erecting posters and the MCC flag it wasn’t long before the first MCC member arrived. By teatime, nineteen vans had arrived, we were hoping for twenty, but it was not to be. Come 7 o’clock, it was time for the evening’s fun and entertainment to begin. This started off with a game of Bingo and was then followed by a card game called Higher or Lower.

The following morning we were blessed with blue skies and warm sunshine. After coffee morning in the village hall and with Tattershall Castle being close by, many members took the opportunity to pay a visit to the castle.Kev & I took the opportunity to relax in the warm sunshine and continue with our stewarding duties.

7’oclock bought another evening of fun and laughter. This time the highlights of the evening was the raffle (with lots of lovely prizes being offered), followed by a general knowledge quiz organised by Peter.

Unfortunately, Sunday morning’s coffee morning had to be cancelled due to the hall being booked for an antique fair, but this did not spoil what was a brilliant weekend.
