Rally Report

What a fantastic 60th Jubilee weekend was had by the 59 vans that attended the rally at Springfields Event Centre. The weather was rather windy but dry. The vans were parked up by the committee and members could go into the hall for a welcoming drink and chat. In the evening bingo was played, raffle tickets sold and tickets for a memorial decanter donated by Dave and Carol were on sale. There was a team quiz, won by Ken’s team and then it was karaoke time. Didn’t know we had so much talent within the Group!

Saturday was a day to go exploring the area or the men taking the ladies shopping. In the afternoon there was a hog roast and then it was time for the members to go and put on their 60’s fancy dress attire and dance the night away to the fantastic ‘Strobe’.

Sunday started with a coffee morning with the raffle draw and the draw for the memorial decanter which was won by Ian. In the afternoon we welcomed a special guest, Mrs Kit Hildred, one of our founding members who joined us all in having a cream tea. There was outside games which was won by Bob Smart and a table top sale and a tombola to support our charity. Also included was a Glamorous Granny and Knobbly Knees competitions. In the evening we were entertained by Steve Dell.

A big thanks to everyone who organised and to everyone who attended and took part in making it a special event and here’s to the next sixty years!
