Rally Report

Country and Western Rally, Ingoldmells 7 - 10 March 019

Our stewards, Maureen, Dave, and John, assisted by 'apprentice', Amelia, welcomed 36 'vans to the Royal Arthur Centre on a typical spring weekend. A bit of everything on the weather front but not serious enough to spoil the weekend.

We welcomed two East. Mids. 1st timers, Hilary and Ian, and Sandra and Graham, together with visitors from Anglia and Nene Valley.

Bingo on Thursday and Friday night saw a good spread of winnings, especially on one table of four with 3 houses between them! Music, chat and 'leg pulling' kept us going till bedtime.

Visits to 'SkegVegas' or a walk up to the very bracing seafront were the popular options for many, followed by hot drinks and cakes in the hall, courtesy of the stewards!

On Saturday, we were entertained by the well-known Country and Western singer, Darren Busby, keeping the dancefloor occupied all evening. He seemed to enjoy the evening as much as we did. The door was finally locked just after midnight.

Sunday coffee morning was brought forwards to 10 o'clock due to the 'iffy' weather forecast. The raffle and bonus ball were dealt with after Anne, our Chair had thanked all for attending and thanked our stewards for looking after us. Quite a few of us made a repeat visit to Vincent's Cafe just opposite our site, to fill another gap, for either breakfast or lunch, before heading off into the stiffening breeze.
