Rally Report

Tattershall Rally. 14-16 February 2025.

Good turn out, with a total of 28 vans. Janis and Chris who were co-stewarding with ourselves, unfortunately had van trouble, but still came over in their car to help with parking up the vans and setting up the hall. So many thanks to them.
Meanwhile Michele dressed all the tables with a Valentines theme of hearts, balloons, chocolates and sweets. Yum !
Friday evenings usual ritual of raffle and bingo sales went ahead, followed by bingo, called by Dave. Prizes of £16 a line and £33 for a full house went down very well. Bernadette and Michele went round with Lucky number ready for Sunday's draw. This was followed by two Valentine themed quizzes, provided by Janis and Dave. Both quizzes were emphatically won by our Anglia guests, who were delighted with their M & S "Berry in Love" prizes. Needless to say they are now barred from future quizzes LOL. Think everyone enjoyed their evening of romance, yet nobody left early for a night of passion, it was well gone 11 before most turned in.
Saturday was set aside for people to explore the village or venture further afield. Tea, coffee and biscuits were laid on again mid afternoon, most people just enjoying a chat and an escape from the cold weather, or maybe they were saving themselves for the night to come....and what a night !!
Everyone threw themselves into the Valentines theme of dressing in red and black. The evening kicked off with a glass of Prosecco for everyone provided by our vice chairman Sandra. All the tables were once again dressed with decors, sweets and nibbles. A balloon arch was also erected for photo shoots. Then on came our singer Angie. Let's just say she did more than just sing, she got into character whilst performing an aerobics workout. She was a one woman band with a sprinkle of raunchiness and sauciness thrown in. It was at times reminiscent of Barbara Windsor in the carry on films. A great night was had by all.
Sunday morning tea and coffees preceded the usual raffle, which was very well supported. The lucky number was also drawn, which again was also well supported with all numbers sold. Larayne Harris scooping the winnings. Sandra thanked everyone for attending the rally and bid them all a safe journey home. Dave thanked everyone for making it a great weekend and for everyone who stepped in to help.
Finally, it had been a little tricky parking the vans as it was half and half hardstanding and grass, so it was a relief that all the vans who were parked on grass got away without fuss.
Stewards Dave and Michele
