Business Proposal
There is a proposed amendment to section 9.9 of the Supplementary Document to the Constitution for Groups arising from the need to update. This will be presented, discussed and voted upon.
This paragraph currently states:
9.9 Two fire extinguishers will be carried in the Emergency Box located at the Rally Stewards motor caravans and are available for use at East Midlands rallies. Three more extinguishers will be carried by Officers of the committee and available for use whenever the Officer is attending a rally. The location of those extinguishers will be indicated by signage.
As most members now carry their own fire fighting equipment it is proposed to change this to:
9.9 Members are expected to carry their own firefighting equipment in the form of a Fire Blanket and/or a Fire Extinguisher. Additional equipment may be available from the stewards or Committee officers, but this will be their own personal equipment which we would expect you to replace if used.

In accordance with our Constitution, a third of all Committee Members shall retire by rotation in October 2024 but may seek re-election. Those members co-opted onto the Committee must serve only until the AGM and may stand for re-election. This will create a minimum of 8 vacancies on the Committee. Nominations for the vacancies for the 2024/2025 Group Committee are invited. Completed nomination forms must be received by the Secretary by 6th October 2024. The election of Committee Members will be by paper ballot. Nomination forms are available from the Secretary.

Nominations are invited for the Hazel Turk Trophy. This annual presentation is made to the nominated member whose participation in the Group activity is considered to be deserving. A paper ballot will be held if there is more than one nominee. Nominations in writing must be received by the Secretary by 6th October 2024.

MEMBERS’ MEETING (following AGM)

Nominations are invited for ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2024/2025. The Charity must be based in our area and the proposing member(s) will be expected to promote fund raising activity along with input from the Charity itself. In the event of more than one proposal, a vote by a show of hands will choose one Charity for the year. Nominations in writing should be received by the Secretary by 6th October 2024.

Any items for the Members Meeting Agenda must be received by the Secretary by 6th October 2024.
